    speaking of which, how many of us can actually truly, honestly claim to live our lives according to reason?

  • One thing he mentioned in passing was luck. Ironically if you think about it, luck is random (for me at least) and there's no empirical evidence for it. So then there is no such thing as luck, but things JUST happening on its own.

  • The way I see it, luck is a term which we use for two situations:

    1. When we see a consistent pattern but is unable to come up with an explanation. e.g. crooked dice but we don't know.

    2. When we see a pattern when there is none. e.g normal dice, but the guy rolling them just happens to have a string of high or low rolls.
