He's back! I think...

This was going to be the last post on Angry Doctor, but angry doc learnt a lesson about life today:

Life is not always as difficult as we sometimes think it is.

So with luck (yes, angry doc knows there is no such thing as luck), angry doc will be back blogging again next year.

In the meantime, angry doc would like to share these two video clips with his reader.

The original.

The re-cut.

angry doc prefers the original. He does.

  • She never really did re-cut that song, just sang a quick acapella piece to humour the nitpicky physicist...

Clearly her original song flows better; but even in that case, I am more inclined to believe the "guess" that we're 12 billion light years from the edge is closer to the truth than the "fact" that someone will love another till she dies...

True love can be so genuinely faked. Just sayin'.

  • But if you're not going to believe in true love that will last till you die, then what's the whole point? :)

  • Not sure. The whole point has always eluded me.

Somebody once said: "Never try to predict the prices, always trade the reality on your charts."

Is it an enduring love? Or merely one of several hard knocks on the long road of life?

Perhaps someday things will finally make sense in retrospect.

The problem is that things always make sense in retrospect.

  • Starting the year in an existential mood, eh?

I think 'the whole point' is to attain a neuro-chemical state in our brains that tells us that we have achieved all that which our genes have 'determined' are 'good' for us.

What 'all that' is may be different for each individual, although we know that 'love' is (or rather a few different types of love are) encoded in our brains.

We might be able to objectively see true love on an fMRI or something, but like I said, what then is the point? :)

Have a happy new year, old friend.

  • Happy New Year, doc.. Lovely song and cute re-cut.. :)

Does love determine the neuro-chemical state? Or does the chemistry tells us how we love? I suppose we'll never know..

  • Happy new year, Teck.

You are not allowed in this discussion: you have a child, so you already know the answer. :)
