1.6 billion viewers can't be wrong

How about that?

  • I wonder how much of the popularity is driven by the personality of Greg House... I had always thought that saccharine-sweet-motivational-speaker types were the ones who command the crowds.

Does that mean that abrasive, cocky, sciencey types are now IN? Or these personalities are only popular if they are on TV?

  • What is the significance of this?

    Here's what I think:

    1) House is basically the sadistic fantasy of every doctor. To practice pure medicine with total disregard for ethics or the patient's well being with no fear of being sued is probably the closest thing you can get to "playing GOD"

    2) The fact that House is the most popular TV show in the world, probably shows that people would love to play God. And hence the fantasy associated with it.

    3) The stupid thing though is that all these people would hate to be their own patients in that sick sadistic fantasy world of House.

    4) It is because people have all this dark secret ideas and desires in them that makes them think that all doctors are like House and hence the paranoia and tendency to assume the doctor is "out to get them" when they see the doctor.

    Silly world.

    How're ya doin' angry doc?
