  • Hi Angry Doc,

I chanced upon a blog when I did a google search on where to get a stethoscope in Singapore and from the blog, there is a link to yours.

I've a question unrelated to this post but couldn't find a contact email on your blog to send you via email.

If you don't mind, would like to check with you if you have any recommendation on where to possibly get a stethoscope?

I'm not a med student or grad. I'm looking for one to be use on my dogs. One of my senior dog is diagnosed with allergy asthma where there will be fluid build up in the lung. I need one to monitor his heart lung daily and send him to the vet when there is fluid. I don't want to wait till he shows clear symptoms of coughing or breathing difficulties. Just in case you wonder, I do have other dog to compare the abnormalities.

Appreciate if you can advise on recommending the right one to get for the intention.

    Much thanks!

  • J,

    I'm not a vet...

But if you are worried about fluid retention, perhaps daily weighing of your dog might be an easier option?

  • Hi angry doc,

Thanks for the reply. Have gotten one from the vet. Was rather desperate the other day to post here because it was a Sunday and vet clinic is not opened. I couldn't ask the vet to help. Was too anxious to get one as soon as possible.

Thanks for the suggestion but nope. Weighing to monitor fluid retention is not workable on small animals. :)

  • Oh yes, I am aware that you are not a vet. Wasn't expecting your diagnosis but ask perhaps you may be able to suggest a stethoscope that could hear the lungs and heart of the animal.

well... it shows how desperate I was to get one.

Again, much thanks to your reply, apologies for the abruptness.
